Dental veneers are where we take pieces of porcelain, which is glass, and we're going to bond them right to the front surface of teeth. Most of the tooth structure is still there, we're just filling in the discrepancies, and the front of the teeth or changing the color. They're very long-lasting, they're very strong, they're beautiful.

Most people don't realize that as we go through life, the front teeth are going to have some wear that goes on, so the teeth themselves will get thinner and many times they'll get shorter, but by putting a veneer on there, we'll eliminate any of that wear. The other aspect that happens with time and with life is that as we go from hot foods to cold foods, there will be little fractures that go within the enamel. By covering that with porcelain, we're actually strengthening the teeth and making them stronger.

Veneers are actually doing a service in protecting those teeth for a long, long time.
